Jack will be here by the end of this week. Dr. Theis said he wanted to see me Monday, if I haven't already had him before then, he'll schedule an induction for the end of the week. He didn't think I'd last till Thursday, so we'll see.

In the meantime, I'm going through a myriad of emotions. I'm excited to meet my new little one and am ready to get to know him like I know Sadie. I look at her and all the joy she brings to me and Jared and I think of how that joy is about to double. But at the same time, I feel like i'm betraying Sadie in some sort of way. She'll have to become a little more independent and learn to share Mama and Daddy. It'll be good for her to have a little brother, I know. The feelings are complex. I also look at the little bassinet I set up in our room each morning and its a reminder of the lack of sleep I'll be getting when he arrives. I'm also afraid of being trapped inside for the next month with two babies. It took time to learn to incorporate Sadie into my life, and now I can't imagine life without her. I'll have to learn to do the same with Jack. I'm just nervous.

Do you guys have any pointers for me? Have any of you felt this way?

courtney...before i had my jack(son), i felt exactly the same way. i had gotten very used to me and brennan time, and i wasn't sure how a "third wheel" would work. it was tricky learning to manage everything, but in the end, it worked out and now i think we are just about perfect (in at totally earth based flawed way)...now i am being very selfish and not wanting this bliss of 2 kids to end. i am really worried about #3. however, i keep reminding myself it will all work out in the end and i will love him the same and a new 'perfect' will take form.
so, it's okay to be worried and dread change. i always dread change...but i bet in a few weeks things are as smooth sailing as they can be with a newborn and little one. feel free to email me at theremingtons@cox.net if you have any questions or just want to vent about how hard it is with two as opposed to one...trust me, i don't judge, b/c i felt the same way!
good luck girlie...i wish i was as far along as you!

Jack is turning out to be a pretty popular name. I love it!

I wish I had some good advice for you- I'll be looking to you for help and pointers on round 2! I think it will be a challenge at first but pretty soon, you will wonder how you were ever without Jack (in a good way). Love ya!

Well, we're one month into this two baby business and every thing is going pretty good. The cabin fever has been rough but like every thing else, it gradually gets better. I am really glad to have a sweet, cuddly new baby to hug and love again, too.

Good Luck! Dr. Theis told me a twice that he didn't think I'd make it to my next appointment. The first time I proved him wrong. I hope that all goes well for you.

The best advice I can give you is, to put the baby carseat across the back of the grocery cart (you can't do it with the HEB carts)so you can still put the "big" in the front.

Good luck!
