After reading Lexi's very entertaining tutorial on making pumpkin gingerbread, I decided to give it a try. I enlisted Sadie's help.
Sadie has helped me mix all of the "dry" ingredients. As you can see, she used her hands to achieve this task.
Here we are getting ready to spray our bread pans with Pam.
Sadie thought Crisco tasted wonderful straight up. Yuck.
The finished product. The loaf on the right is completely gone already. I started on the left loaf for breakfast this morning. We didn't share a loaf like Lexi. She's a better person that I am.

The loaves look perfect. And based on your decision to enjoy both loaves, it appears they tasted great as well. Don't feel bad about keeping both. You could just say, you had to test both of them to make sure they turned out right so that next time, you'll know they're good enough to pass on.
P.S. I love the picture of your little crisco guzzling assistant.
Yum...After we run out of apples (see my blog later today) I will make this, but for now, I am stuck with apples, apples, apples.
Oh, and Jackson always cries when I won't let him drink Crisco...he thinks it is apple juice!
It was a toss up on whether I was going to make my pumking bread today or not but now that I have seen yours I am craving it. Sadie looks adorable. We miss her....and you of course!
Ok I think I'll have to follow the trend and do pumpkin bread too. I wanted the kind with chocolate chips in it. Sadie is getting so big! How fun she gets to help you out. I love making messes in the kitchen
I'm glad it turned out for you and that it was tasty! And good for you for using Pam ;-)
I hate to admit this, but my mom said that when Jamie and I were little, we ate crisco too :) That looks really good, I might have to try it out, too (the bread, not the crisco of course).
