Anatomy confirmed

We have a confirmation...baby number two is indeed a boy! There was no mistaking this one. He was very cooperative with showing himself during our ultrasound. Its all there and its quite apparent. I'll try to post pictures later.

This ultrasound was harder for me to interpret than Sadie's was because the contrast were not as stark as the machine in Baton Rouge, but luckily, Dr. Theis has a great eye and was very quick to point out all of the baby's anatomy. I really like this Doctor. He was warm and friendly and really showed that he knew his stuff.

Now we have to play the name game. Boy names have always been harder for us to pick out. I'm coming up dry on what to call this little guy! We might have to go and buy one of those "2 million of the best loved baby names" books. I was more in favor of saving the $16.95 and hoped the name would fall upon me in a vision or a dream or while driving down the interstate while scanning the billboards I would see a one with the suggestion blasted across it. Not happening. Its not that I don't like any names. I'm just not falling in love with any of them. Could I just settle and grow to love the name?

It doesn't matter. We have a healthy baby boy that the doctor said is developing beautifully and everything is in place for our original due date of August 17th.

This may sound creepy, but you could always visit a cemetary for name ideas. Jeni mentioned that to me one day and I thought, brilliant! I think that's what I'll do if the next baby we have ends up being a boy again.

Boy names are so hard to come up with and finding unique names even harder. Of course, I thought I was being unique when I named Peyton, Peyton but I've since heard that name more times than I can count, and unfortunately a lot of them are girls.

When I found it, it was a gentlemen's name from the 1800's.
It's kinda annoying that it's a name that goes for both boys AND girls now. :-(

Anyway, good luck on the name hunt and CONGRATS!!!

Congrats! Boys are so much fun! We are the opposite, we had such a hard time choosing a girl name. It's a good thing we've only got one. I'm glad you like Dr. Theis, he is very warm and friendly and he's an excellent Dr.

Yah! You're joining the big sis, lil bro club! And go ahead and invest in one of those name books, especially if you are thinking you might have more kids. I still have fun looking up what different names mean when I hear them and we'll already have the book ready to go if we ever have another one!

Yeah, Congrats on a boy that will be fun for Sadie to have a little brother! Names are so hard, but now I am a believer that even if it's not until after he is born you will come up with a perfect name!

Congrats! Oh, and you can check those books out at the library in the parenting section. I'd recommend one that isnt huge. The larger one has more dumb, made up names you have to sort through.

Courtney, some how I missed this post and I'm just reading this. I was talking to Aaron and Lisa and they mention you having a boy, and I was like, WHAT? How did I not know!!! I'm super happy for you! We're going to have to set up an arranged marriage between your baby #2 and my baby #2 :). I'm excited.
